About Gen
Icebreaker is an independent production — written, directed and produced by one person, one episode at a time.
Gen
I'm a videographer, editor and director with more than two decades of experience in production, from commercials and music videos to documentary work. After years of helping bring other people's stories to life, I created Icebreaker from the ground up as my first project entirely my own.
Before Icebreaker
I've spent most of my career behind the camera and in the edit room, shaping images, performances and moments into stories that connect.
That experience taught me to trust rhythm, emotion and the small details that can completely change a scene. Those instincts now shape everything about Icebreaker, from its visual language and pacing to the quiet moments between Ana and Noémie.
Why Icebreaker
I wanted to create the kind of WLW love story I wanted to watch.
A genuine slow burn where the romance isn't a subplot, isn't hidden in subtext and isn't rushed to get somewhere else. A story with enough time for attraction to become trust, for vulnerability to feel earned, and for two women to simply be allowed to fall in love.
Ana, Noémie and the world of the Polaris grew from that idea.
Creating Icebreaker
Icebreaker is an entirely independent production.
I create the story and characters, write and direct every episode, and handle the visual storytelling, pacing, sound and edit myself. There is no writers' room and no studio behind the series. It is built one scene and one episode at a time.
Created with AI, not by AI.
The Tools
AI video and audio tools are part of how I bring Icebreaker to the screen, but they are exactly that: tools.
Every character, story decision, performance direction, shot choice and final edit comes from me. The technology makes it possible for one person to build a world that would otherwise require an entire production team.
The tools help me create the Polaris.
They don't decide where it goes.
